Butte Falls is not quite half the way from Medford to Crater Lake as the crow flies.
But despite being "along the way" from one place to another it really is out in the middle of nowhere.
Tucked into the forest at the end of a meandering small highway - it was really quite charming.
Civic pride abounded.
There was art to be seen.
The town-folk were literate.
And connected to the world.
One could load up on the necessary vittles for the long road ahead.
And even grab some hooch. I wish we had time to explore this area as there was a waterfall on the map, but we never did find a road sign to show the way. comments powered by
