Being a resident of Portland we were aware that the city has drawn its drinking water from the Bull Run River since the late 1800's. Shamefully though, we had never visited the area to pay respect to the source of this precious natural resource.
This school house was one of the few remaining elements that we could find of the historic Bull Run community.
The Bull Run River, a tributary of the Sandy, was named for wild cattle, lost by early settlers, that once roamed this area.
